What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 270

Well.......not a lot!
Except there is a lot, it just isn't terribly visible.
sorry about the glare...it turned into a lovely Tuesday evening....

Desert Island Discs on the iPlayer, and yes, that is a miniature botle of Bombay Sapphire gin.  It's one of my favourites and was a birthday gift. It's so pretty, I can't put it away..or drink it!  The pointy eared alien is from Mary-Anne, it was a WOYWW5Crop gift...and is actually a print of the pattern on this blog..she's so clever.  He keeps me company and never ever complains when I make him move house.  The plastic box contains the LOs I finished at last weekends crop..to be photographed and filed in albums.  Only four this time; I'm slacking.  The envelope...well, believe it or not, it contains 200 red buttons. After last week's picture, can you imagine me not having enough buttons?  These are for the Card Marathon. The envelope also contains some snowflakes, also for the Card Marathon.  I think.  So far, that's just a plan.
So there, gentle desker..you can almost tell from this morning's desk what the plan for the rest of the day is.  Be so kind as to share similarly, it may take time, but we love to visit!
How to and 'rules' can be found on pages linked at the top of this page.

Dang it, Mary Anne beat me to top spot again!! Your desk may have lots on it but it's very neat, wish I could say the same - well my actual "space" is tidy, just the surround.. You can never have too many buttons... Have a good week.

WOW, you actually bought 200 buttons? :)
I think I've got one of those cute little blue bottles. I know this because the fridge went mad last week and had to be completely emptied!
Have a good week Julia,

So glad you found a home for him. :) I often have the iplayer on in a window too but usually radio. Gin on my desk would be useful, when it's in a state - as it so often is - so I could drown my sorrows...althought it would need to be a much bigger bottle! { sigh} it takes sooooo long to tap tap tap out a comment on the iPad...
Happy WOYWW

I hope you have a wonderful week! Thank you for another WOYWW!! Hugs, Darnell #18

Holy Cow! I feel so alone on creative chaos island lol. But seriously, it is sooooooo organized, doesn't it make you want to just stare at it? That is a lot of red buttons! Sounds like serious fun will be accumulating : D. And four layouts sounds like a goodly number to me : ). #22

Hiya Julia, I;m being a nuisance! Can you remove my links at 6,14 and 20, lol. Don't know what my phone is playing at, the first one works, but went to an old post, then the next two wouldn't go anywhere. I'm really sorry- and very tech challenged, apparently. 200 buttons- Rudolphs nose, by any chance? Lovely to be by a window, but the sunlight does get a bit harsh, I agree. I had to put a blind up in mine.
Huge hugs, Shaz xxx

I am trying to purge some of my stash, but then I keep finding so many awesome things that I forgot I had, Not working out so well this purging thing. LOL
Of course you need more buttons! Who doesn't?

Good morning Julia,
200 red buttons to me is better than going in a toffee shop.
I had the buttons for the workshop on Monday all prettily displayed in my charity shop cut glass bowls.
Have a good week xx

Debbie Rock said...

Of course you can never have enough buttons you noodle ... especially if you actually plan on using them. I am as guilty of the next crafter I am sure of buying stuff and then never being able to bring myself to use it ... that one charm you can't bear to part with or that sheet of paper you just have to sniff and stroke. Times that by a million and you have my craft cupboard. Happy WOYWW'ing dear Julia. Love to you from Debbie #33 xXx

What a lovely organised desk you have, and well done for not breaking into the gin - not sure I'd be able to sit looking at it for that long!

Hi Julia, your desk is looking incredibly tidy and organised this morning. You don't say how many LOs there is in that box but, judging by what I can see, I'd say there's more there than I have managed in 6 months, sigh, ... I should attend a crop. Buttons, 200 red buttons, lovely :) Have a great day and a fab time at the Card Marathon whenever that takes place. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

Your desk looks tidy this week and glare is good isn't it? Well other than when you're trying to take a photo. More buttons...I'm speachless.
Thanks for hosting and have a great WOYWW

Good morning and happy Woyww. I can't imagine every running out of buttons, I hardly ever use buttons and have a jar full. I at one time had them all in their own jars by color, but that took too much space, now they are all jumbled together in an old peppermint jar. But, they are pretty to look at none the less!

Happy WOYWW, Julia! Glad your Tuesday evening featured some sunshine -- always a plus. Four layouts isn't anything to scoff at, when completed during a time of fun, food, and friends. Alliteration, anyone? I need to dash off to work, but had to do my WOYWW post first. Priorities! ~ Laura

Feels good to be back in the fold after being MIA for almost a month.

July was so hectic I didn't think it would be fair to post and then not have time to visit or return visits. BUT it's AUGUST now........really?

For being the "Queen of the Deskers" yours is rather neat and tidy.

Lots of space on your desk. I think I'd just sit and stare out your window and enjoy the view today. And I know what you mean, you might have enough buttons but you they might not be the right color. Or size.

April said...

Your desk isn't nearly messy enough. You need to take a swig of your sapphire gin and get to messing up that desk! LOL April

Oh Julia, how I wish I lived closer to you!! In the same country even! A card marathon sounds like so much fun! And you always seem to be a part of the best crops!!

Thanks for your sweet words about my daughter's wedding pics. I love that they waited until the ceremony to see each other...that hardly ever happens here anymore. They just had a "cocktail" hour for their guests after the ceremony, so that people could snack and drink a little to keep them busy while all the photos were being taken. Totally the way to do it, if you can afford to!

So yes....all of my really old photos from film cameras, especially ones I don't have the negatives to, get scanned and put on to my computer and then I print them out. It serves two purposes for me...#1, I won't possibly mess up the original, and #2, sometimes (rarely, but occasionally) I like to scrap the same photo twice, like if I'm making a wedding book for me and one for my daughter. You can't do that with just one original photo. Let me know when you write your blog post! I might just do one too. I thought everyone scrapped photos that way!!

I see you have our sunshine! Was beginning to wonder what it looked like, have not seen it in a while! I have been inordinately busy and life will hopefully resume normality next week. I have been trying to knock off a ton of things on my to do list...just 2 left! Not bad for a girl whi is a people pleaser and who could not say no and is learning FAST that NO is the sweetest word, it is 9pm and I am proud to say that although I have been flat out busy since 7am, I can now go peruse the inside of my eyelids which had a very short viewing last night!

Julia - that's a fairly tidy desk there...I'm so jealous of the lovely crops you go to! But yes, I see you have a master plan going on and I like it. Somehow I've lost a little mojo with some of life's busy-busy lately, and I need my master plan back! Hugs! Sandy Leigh

Hi again Julia,
Like I just told LLJ, if you can knit with 2 needles you can knit with 4. It's not as hard as it looks and it's worth mastering so you never have to sew seams up again :) If you decide to have a go, ask me for some handy hints :)

Hi Julia! I would love to see a close up of the alien! I have a LOT of buttons too! I am starting to make my paper and cloth flowers again so just this morning I took out my box full of buttons from old clothes. Can't imagine what you would do with a huge bag of red buttons!!!! This is what makes WOYWW interesting! Our foibles out for everyone to see! Thanks for the fun party, patsy
